James Orr provides service in Alaska, Canada, Georgia, Italy and Japan. They have the ability to tailor your trip and make it a great experience. A short break in Europe or a Powder Sampler trip to the USA, Canada or Japan can include instruction if you are a first time backcountry skier looking for a gentle introduction to powder; perhaps with a day or two of cat or heli skiing included, to complete your adventure in style. For dedicated, lodge, cat and helibased ski trips, some previous offpiste and powder skiing experience would be required.
After a day or two of resort skiing to warm up your powder legs, it’s time to climb aboard the helicopter with your small group and a mountain guide. As your pilot drops you on an unblemished mountainside, memories of every crowded slope you’ve ever had to endure vanish. As far as the eye can see is mile after mile of unspoilt terrain covered in the lightest, finest powder, in wide open alpine bowls and in old growth forest leading to the valley floor.
Before your departure we check that your expectations are realistic and make sure the ski adventure you’ve chosen is suitable for your level of experience and ability. We brief you thoroughly about the location and any known risks associated with it. We make sure the people who are delivering services to you on the ground are the best at what they do, and that they’re equipped with the latest safety training and equipment. Should anything go wrong and you need medical attention, we’ll work with the ground staff and your insurer to ensure that you receive quality care.
