The western range of the Chugach Mountains is uniquely situated between warm, moist Pacific Ocean air currents and arctic winds blowing in from Alaska’s vast interior, resulting in high quality powder that adheres well to steep terrain. The Chugach region is famous for its steep powder, and conditions are best from early February to late April. Ample helicopter terrain The Chugach Range has a reputation for iconic big lines, and it is well deserved. The CPG offers some of the best and most accessible skiing and snowboarding in the world. Here, every day in the mountains feels like one in a million. In order to ski Alaska’s great lines, the weather, the stability of the snowpack and your skiing or riding ability have to match. Our first goal is to ensure that your backcountry heliskiing experience is as safe as possible. We work with you to make sure you are comfortable and prepared to tackle Chugach’s terrain before you climb it.
